Four months ago, the branch of the federal government that enforces the Serial Killer & Mass Murder laws was attacked. It was organized and used every ruthless killer that could be scrounged up to carry it out. Aislinn Cain and the SCTU lead the charge to take back their neighborhood and the Fortress.
They succeeded, but at high costs to law enforcements and civilians. It left Kansas City and the government reeling. Backlash was immediate and harsh. The Violent Crimes Unit of the FBI was disbanded, leaving Malachi Blake and Caleb Green without jobs. Aislinn Cain was suspended for three months. However, the worst part was that most of the killers involved escaped.
When piles of bones begin turning up in public parks around Kansas City, nobody wants to deal with such a blatant statement that a serial killer is stalking their backyards. He’s organized and arranges to the bones to shock anyone that might find them. He wants everyone to read the stories that the bones tell about his victims.
With all the turmoil, Aislinn Cain’s suspension is lifted so that she can lead her own unit to track this home town serial killer. Most of her team are in training, only Xavier Reece is familiar with the rules of the SCTU. They are the beginnings of a second SCT unit. They must move quickly though because this killer has been at it for years and has suddenly accelerated his killing pace.
Just as Aislinn thinks things can’t get any worse, a mystery man shows up. He brings violence and death with him. Her unwanted stalker is willing to kill for her, but she doesn’t know who he is or why. Until she gets a single clue and realizes the past of one SCTU member could force them to stop investigating the bone cleaner and start a frantic search for a far darker serial killer.

another great one in the D&R series!! ...BUT ...not so happy that this one is a real "to be continued" !! No ending..just a cliffhanger..Yes, all of them have left us with unanswered questions that we find out in the next book..but at least there has been a completion of the main story..but this one really leaves you hanging mid center.. Due to this, in all fairness..I do hope that the next book in the series is due to be out soon..So my advice would be to wait to read this one until the next one is released..I would have preferred to have known this and had that option myself ..but to not leave off on a negative,...it was in line with all the previous books..awesome!Product details

I normally hate cliffhangers. I loved this one. Flawless Dreams began with the SCTU in turmoil, but led quickly into the hunt and Chase that I have grown to love. The story takes a bit of a twist with the introduction of a new nemesis, and the ensuing chase leads to a twist and cliffhanger that is satisfying, mostly because the first killer is taken care of. I can't wait for the next book...not that that is at all unusual. Keep them coming.
Just when you think the series can't get any better, the next book comes out!! This series is awesome with its different take on what a hero is and the reasons people act the way they do. The villains are creepy enough so that you can't wait to see the final showdown. But someone is orchestrating and organizing these events and I can't wait toll we see just who all of the good guys are and who are the bad guys!! Such awesome characters!
Another Homerun by James! This isn't the book to start the Aslin Cain series with, but if you're not reading these books, stop what you're doing and start reading them now. My only complaint (as usual) is "I want more!!!" I don't know how I'm going to wait for the next book! Probably the same way I often do, by going back and re-reading the earlier ones. Her writing is brilliant. It sucks you in, makes you laugh out loud and has you loving good bad guys. It's really wonderful and I can't get enough.
Another nail biter of a book. This one is exceptional and also scary. Ms James has brought the reader on a wild ride. Through her previous books the reader has gotten to know and care for all the characters. This one has brought a real sense of fear for them all. Be sure and have the next in the series because you will definitely want and need to jump right into it. Ms James books are without a doubt some of the very best I have read in many many years.
I love this series but this partial book was a disappointment. The core characters are such a treat to read about but by this time there are so many auxiliary characters, none of them well defined, that it just becomes a bog of dialog most of which could come from one character instead of four. Having Aislinn constantly stating her condition while acting outside of that condition makes no sense either. Also, why does no one use editors and proofreaders any more? One or both would have improved my reading experience.
I have read all of the Dreams and Reality books and I have to say that this book, the latest in the series is by far the most gripping, suspenseful and answers the most questions. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book.
This left me biting my nails and with the most anxiety of all the books in the series.. It's about to seriously get real, folks!!
I am a voracious reader, and I have enjoyed Ms. James' D&R series. I am very disappointed in this latest book however. The great story line I have come to expect in this series is there. It is SHORT though. As others have commented, this book is a true 'to be continued'. Something Ms. James has not done in her other books. I am not sure why she did not finish the story line of the twins, she has done so in previous books. In my opinion, this is half a book. Of even larger concern for me though is the number of typos throughout the book. Ms. James is not alone in this, as I've noticed this becoming something of a bothersome trend for many books. Bad grammar, misspelled words, and even a duplication or two, oh, and mixing up small details. All of these typos distract from the enjoyment of reading a good story. I feel as though Ms. James was perhaps rushed into publishing this book. I would much rather have waited longer for a more complete and polished book. Shame on any author who gives into the pressures of publishers for the ability to make more money. Please stay true to you art.
